Build confidence shooting farther

The introduction to long range shooting is designed and geared toward the shooter who is looking at increasing his or her confidence, and the effective range, with their long guns but isn’t quite sure how to get started.  We will be covering a multitude of different topics to help better understand the world of longer distance shooting. In this course we will spend time building on many of the fundamentals and basic skills needed to engage targets at distances past the standard deer hunting ranges of 150 yards. During the practical portion of the class the students will work their way towards shooting targets out to 300 yards. This class is ideal for the sportsman and  sportswoman who wants to be more capable and get a little more out of that rifle or carbine. This class will help you gain the confidence you need in shooting your favorite rifle cartridge, and even help you get hits further out with straight wall cartridges like the 450 Bushmaster or 350 Legend. Students who predator or varmint hunt will also benefit greatly by dialing-in your shots at distance.

What we cover:

We will be covering gear selection, ranging targets, milling targets, reading wind, fundamentals of shooting, alternate shooting positions like standing and tripod shooting, how to be a proficient spotter, and ballistics.  The information provided is designed to be a “what you need to do course” for starting in the long range world.
