Active Violence Response Training

Let us help you craft your plan to succeed in an active violence situation

The reality is that acts of violence can happen where we work, where our children go to school, and places we go with our families and friends together. We hear about these tragic events in the news, in social media, and in conversations with those we talk about life with. We don’t get to decide when they start to happen, but we absolutely get to decide how we react to them. Our training, or lack of, is the foundation for how we will respond in a potentially tragic situation.

Casualties are preventable with proper medical training

We know that when you have the needed knowledge, skills, and tools that you and people around you will be able to save lives. In our Active Violence Response Training we provide the knowledge and skills needed to effect change in situations which may have casualties. We also offer our Combat Life Saver (medical) training class for comprehensive medical and casualty care.

Preparing people to prevent and mitigate a potential tragedy

Active Violence Response Training is designed to aid in the ability of individuals in various social settings to respond to a violent situation. Teachers, school staff, school administrators, university staff, large corporate environments, and students all need to know how to improve survivability and be able to respond effectively to a violent confrontation.

Instilling Confidence to Save Lives

This class is designed to build both confidence and ability for individuals to help themselves and others in an adverse situation. Students will be given the opportunity to practice learned skills in simulated scenarios, like an active shooter, to better hone critical thinking and immediate reaction skills. Information in this training is specifically tailored to each environment, and the people in that are routinely in the environment.

Feedback From Our Students

“On Saturday Feb 23rd, sixteen Waverly High School staff members received a full day of Active Violence Response Training. This training was offered to all Waverly High School staff and support staff by a company named First To Fight Tactical Solutions, headed up by Corporal Kyle Hansbarger and Sergeant Brad Niedzwiecki. Both are eight year US Marine Corps veterans, with extensive training and experience in various life saving techniques and strategies. They were accompanied by additional instructors, Kody Hansbarger and firefighter and EMT Dave Simon.

Teachers were not merely told what to do in emergency situations, but also practiced theses skills during several real life scenarios.  The teams were then critiqued and coached to streamline the process of communication with each other and First Responders that may arrive in the case of an emergency.  The teachers who took this course feel the safety of their students is of utmost importance and they can more confidently play a critical role in protecting students and saving lives, should they ever need to do so.

This event was organized by the teachers and held at the high school during non-school hours. It was not a school sanctioned event.”
